Blemish Buster Face Mask

I've come out with a few spots recently. Generally, I'm pretty lucky and I hardly ever get any spots but when I do, my face never has the decency to be subtle about it. It will always be right in the middle of my forehead.

I decided to make up my own little face mask and it was actually a really fun thing to do. Of course, I looked like the bog monster when I put it on but when I took it off...wow!

This facemask did so much more than just help calm down my spots. My skin was glowing, and I mean visibly brighter, even lovely husband noticed and I didn't even have to drop hints!

How It Works

This is an oatmeal based face mask which is excellent for getting rid of spots and is really good for anyone suffering from acne too.

Oatmeal

Oats contain tonnes of amino acids which help the body to rebuild and repair tissue. This helps to heal your skin when you get spots! Oats also help your skin to retain moisture and when you use it with skin hydrating ingredients, it gives your skin a glow.

Yogurt

Yogurt has zinc in it which has anti-inflammatory properties so it stops you from looking puffy and it helps to regulate your body's production of sebum which prevents you from getting breakouts. Yogurt also helps to remove dead skin cells and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice reduces the appearance of scars and evens out your skin tone. It removes dead skin cells and bacteria from the surface of your skin to prevent spots and it has a brightening effect too.

Honey

Honey has anti-bacterial properties which prevents spots and reduces inflammation. It soaks up impurities from your skin helping to unclog your pores. Honey also contains antioxidants and helps to slow down the ageing process of your skin.

How To Make It

I made this face mask with ingredients that help to repair skin, remove scars and open your pores. This is what you need to make yourself this blemish busting face mask.

3tbsp oats - I used rolled oats but you can use ground porridge oats too, it works just as well.
2tbsp yogurt
1tbsp lemon juice
1tsp honey

The good news is, it smells delicious when you put it on.

This face mask is gentle enough to suit most skin types. Just for your reference, I have normal to dry skin.

I left the mask on for 10 minutes and it gave me great results. Then I continued to wash my face with it over the next few days (I had plenty left). This mask is full of active ingredients and it stays fresh in your fridge for 5 - 6 days.

Give it a go!
